LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP:

Library membership is required to access library services for faculty, students, and staff.


Membership Fee: A one-time refundable membership fee of ₹2000/- is deducted from the first month's salary or stipend.

Membership Form: All users must complete the membership form to activate their account.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION PROCEDURE:

The library encourages users to recommend books and Journals that are not available in our collection. Your recommendations help us build a well-rounded collection for future reference and research.


How to Recommend a Book?

Option 1: Email Submission

Send a detailed list of the recommended titles to tifrhlibrary@tifrh.res.in.


Option 2: Online Recommendation

Follow these steps:

1. Visit the Library Website and select the "Recommendation" option from the left navigation bar or Click Here

2. Log in with your account credentials and enter the necessary details.

3. Once submitted, the library will receive a notification and compile an approval list.

4. The list will be reviewed by the Library Committee for approval.

5. Upon approval, the books will be ordered, and you will be notified about the procurement status.


BOOK DONATION PROCEDURE:

The TIFRH Library welcomes donations of scientific books that you no longer need. Your contributions help enrich our collection and support research and learning.


How to Donate Books?

Step 1: Send a list of books you wish to donate to tifrhlibrary@tifrh.res.in.

Step 2: The library team will review the list and check for duplicates in our collection.

Step 3: If the books are not already in our collection, we will accept them. If they are already available, we may decline the donation due to space limitations.

Step 4: A confirmation email will be sent for the accepted books.


BIOMETRIC ACCESS IN LIBRARY:

The library is equipped with a biometric system for security purposes. Users can access the library through:


1. Index Finger Authentication

2. RFID ID Card provided by the institute

To activate your access, please contact the IT Department, which will complete the necessary formalities and grant access to the library.


BOOK BINDING INFORMATION:

Some books are sent for binding due to their poor condition and unsuitability for use. During this period, the OPAC status will be marked as "Binding," indicating that the book is temporarily unavailable.


Users may need to wait until the binding process is completed. For any queries, please contact the Library Team.

NO DUES PROCEDURE:

For Faculty & Staff: All borrowed books must be returned before leaving the institute; otherwise, the No Dues Certificate will not be issued.


For Students (PhD, IPhD): In addition to returning all borrowed books, students must submit a copy of their thesis to the library to obtain the No Dues Certificate.
